“Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire.” - St. Catherine of Siena
I hope to serve our community as:
As a mom of three school aged children, I value our Catholic education system. I know that a positive school experience is essential to our children’s success. As a regulated health professional working in cardiovascular care and prevention, I am passionate about supporting a healthier community.
I am proud to be your newly elected Catholic School Board Trustee, serving Mississauga in wards 9 and 10. I am committed to being your child's advocate and a voice for what is important to you!
I will be working closely with our parents, educators, Trustees , community as well as our municipal and provincial elected representatives. We all need to ensure a collaborative approach in partnering for our children and community. I look forward to making an impact in learning, growing and leading with Christ...because our children only get one childhood.
Let's make a difference together!
To my three little people who call me “mommy”, if there is anyone who pushes me to dream bigger, stand taller and try harder, it is you! If I can show you anything, don't follow your dreams, chase them!
Why did I choose this path? Because our children only get one childhood. And that “why” is my mission.
Brea is a dedicated mom to three school aged children who attend Catholic Elementary school in Ward 10. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of all children and improving their school experience! Throughout the years, she continues to seek out opportunities to become more involved in the school.
Brea has supported curriculum education by teaching Mad Science Workshops throughout the GTA. She has helped mentor students as a School Lunch Supervisor. She has encouraged participation in physical activity by assisting with the Intramural sports programs. She enjoys participating in school events as a parent volunteer for school trips and classroom activities.
Brea is inspired to create a healthier community with heart!
As a Registered Kinesiologist in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Prevention, Brea is a strong advocate for improving cardiac health recovery and chronic disease management through exercise medicine. Her work experience in both hospital and community helps her to educate patients on how to safely improve their fitness for better health outcomes and survival.
Brea is the founder of Change of Heart Fitness, an innovative community based program, that promotes inspiring change for a healthier heart.
The ward 10 community is where Brea and her family have called home for the past 15 years. Brea takes pride in making a difference in the lives of the community she serves. She also believes a united faith community with a strong connection between church and school is important to support families in raising children.
Brea volunteers in various church ministries. For the upcoming 2018-2019 year she is involved with:
Whether she's cheering on her three children on the soccer fields or in the hockey rinks, supporting community events like the 50th anniversary of Mississauga Fire Dept and The Walk for Arthritis 2018, the Mississauga community of wards 9 and 10 is where she calls home! And home is where the heart is.
Over the last several months, I have been working hard to seek community feedback at the doors of our Mississauga residents. I have listened to families about what our Catholic school systems are doing well and identifying the areas where we fall short of excellence. I am invested in all of these concerns.
Some of the important issues that have been expressed through my conversations with our wards 9 and 10 constituents include:
I am passionate about continuous improvement in education for our children!
The roles and responsibilities of the Catholic School Board Trustee matter to me! I have a vision of strengthening the parent, school and community connection. As a mom with children in school and an active member of our community and churches, we must always strive for better...because "extraordinary lives start with a great catholic education".
